Right click desktop select Create New Folder.
I realize this question has already been answered, but here’s another simpler way that I found to work:
- [In Chrome] Navigate to the website you’re trying to put on the desktop,
- Click on its URL in the omnibar at the top, selecting the whole URL,
- Drag it to the desktop.
- Done!
